So Election Day was a pretty good one for me. As I mentioned before, I voted mostly democratic. Most of the people I were backing won, and ALL of the issues turned out the way I had hoped. That's really not unusual for the local elections, I guess, because Salt Lake City proper is actually very liberal and I'm usually in the majority when it comes to candidates and issues that I support. The rest of Utah is not so liberal, however, and Orrin Hatch won his 6th term as Senator. That's really not surprising; as one of my coworkers said, I'm surprised he spent any money on his campaign at all. I'm really not too disappointed by that, contrary to what most people probably think, I don't dislike Orrin Hatch as much as you think I might. He's pro stem cell research, so he has at least 1 endearing quality in my book. I also like his thoughts on immigration, so make that 2. See? I'm so positive.
I had my Community Council meeting on Wednesday night, which was fun, because our chair (who was running for House District 25) won. There was an awesome turnout, and we even saw one of our renters there. Thursday, we put a deposit down on a photographer for our wedding. The pictures are the one thing that we really want to be good. Everything else can be mediocore, but not the pictures. I'm really happy with the guy we chose, I really think he has an eye for the kind of style that we like. After the photographer, we went to Skybox to watch the Wyoming vs. BYU game. It was terrible, Wyoming got killed. BYU scored 21 points in the first 10 minutes. But we got to eat greasy food, and we met a really nice couple, so what more could we want?
This weekend is going to fly by. We have to make a pie tonight for the zoo Thanksgiving Dinner. Tomorrow, we have tickets to the Utah vs. Colorado St. game, but it's supposed to snow, so I don't know if we'll go. Tomorrow night is the aforementioned zoo dinner. Sunday we really need to Christmas shop and rake leaves.
