This is my last post until the end of July. I'm getting married on Saturday, and I'm taking some time off after that. I intended to post a super-sappy entry I wrote about Chris, but I don't have time to proofread it, so you don't get to see it. The gist of it is that Chris is wonderful, and I couldn't be marrying anyone more perfect for me.

So the bridal pictures went very well. I love our photographer, he is really great. I want to show Chris so badly, but he won't look at them because he doesn't want to see my wedding dress. I am trying so hard to respect that, although I'm dying to show him.

I convinced Chris we should stay up late tonight since it's the first day of summer. We're sitting on the back patio listening to someone in the apartments next door play the harmonica. I'm so happy right now.

Hairy

Why does my bank insist on asking me an "increased security question" when I log in? Like I'm really the only person on earth that could tell them what street I grew up on?

Tonight I have an appointment to get my nails done, in anticipation for getting my bridal pictures taken tomorrow. I think bridal pictures are a Utah phenomenon, because I had never heard of them until I moved here. I wasn't too keen on the idea to start with, and now that it's tomorrow I could really care less to have them taken. But our photographer includes it, and it seems dumb not to take advantage of that.

I guess this means that I will have to shave my legs. I haven't shaved in well over a year. I just don't like it. I might even say that I prefer my hairy legs over clean-shaven ones, but the truth is that I go through phases. And right now I'm in a hairy phase. And it's not that I'm opposed to shaving for our wedding, it's that I don't want to deal with the stubbly horror that is growing leg hair back out. So maybe I'll just have to be on a shaving kick for a while afterwards.

Wow, I just talked about body hair for an entire paragraph. I really have nothing to talk about, do I?

We did solve our dirt issue this past weekend, and we even sodded the entire area. Maybe I'll download some pictures and post them.

Working Fridays Can Kiss My Ass

Seriously, they can. The good news is that now I only have one more 5-day work week (the week after next) until the first week of August! Woooooo!

This weekend is going to fly by. Tonight Chris and I are meeting with out Reverend, and then I think we'll make a super-delicious tasty dinner at home (I think I'm going to make roasted red pepper sea scallops) and then who knows what. We might go to Brewvies, or the drive-in, or maybe we'll just stay home and play games. We've been really social lately and being home alone this past week while Chris was out of town made me crave some quality alone time with my man.

Tomorrow we are going to a birthday party in the early evening, and then we are seeing a play later in the evening. We had season tickets to the Salt Lake Acting Company this past year, and this is the final performance. They let you bring wine, so it will be great fun.

On Sunday maybe we'll try to go to church. We'll also attempt to get dirt to fill in the hole in our backyard where we busted up a bunch of cement. The problem is that there are so many options for dirt, and they all suck. We can get it delivered (expensive), borrow Jo's jeep and get a trailer and pick it up (time-consuming), or get it in bags at Home Despot (waste of plastic and expensive). So I don't know what the hell we're going to do.

Update

I don't have anything to say, but I feel like I should update. I have my dress fitting tonight. It will be altered and ready to pick up in a week so that I can wear it for my bridal pictures on June 19th.

Attention Stalkers: Home Alone

The last two weekends have been way too much fun. Memorial Day weekend (seems like forever ago) went like this:

Friday: Met Scott and Jessica at a baseball game. Watched game, drank beer, went to Scott and Jessica's new house afterwards to hang out.
Saturday: Went to Jesse and Sharon's. Swam in their new pool, ended up spending the night. We pitched tents and slept in the backyard.
Sunday: Went to Ikea, because it's really close to Jesse and Sharon's. Came back, swam. Left and went to our friend John's house to grill out with him and his girlfriend.
Monday: Chilled, recovered, went out for sushi with Steph and Tom.

I'm really glad that we cancelled our camping trip. The week after Memorial Day was a short week, only 3 days at work for us. We spent Friday doing wedding stuff (will it ever end?), and met John at Cafe Madrid for tapas and good Spanish wine. We slept in on Saturday, having gotten most of our errands done on Friday. Saturday night was a housewarming barbeque at Scott and Jessica's. They just moved a couple of weeks ago. I think we lived in our house for 9 months before we managed to have a housewarming party. It was a fun time. Sunday I snapped out of my recent lazy spell and did about 6 loads of laundry and cleaned the house. We shopped for groceries, and otherwise just prepared for our 5 day work week.

Which brings me to today. Chris is out of town for work, so I'm taking the opportunity to catch up with the blog, play the guitar (although it's hard because my nails are longish right now and I don't want to cut them before the wedding), and catch up with phonecalls. It's weird and windy here today. I think I'll go to bed early and snuggle with the cats.
