Yeehaw!
So I ran 5K last night and set a new best time for myself! 36:45, in the interest of full disclosure. (Why every time I hear the phrase "full disclosure" do I automatically think "full frontal disclosure"? WHY?) The guy at work who I have forced to be my running mentor was at the park last night, and he was a total sweetheart and slowed waaaaaaaaaay down to my pace and ran a stretch with me. As much as I would have thought that I would hate that, I loved it. It totally helped, and he just elevated himself from Nice Guy status to Super Nice Guy status. And man, this blog has just become All Running, All The Time, hasn't it? Let me see what else I have to talk about:
- Chris is on his second and final week on break from school. His classes start again on Monday, May 12th. I have liked having him around, and I'm going to miss him when he goes back.
- We were sleeping in our guest bedroom while Chris' parents were here. (Whenever either of our sets of parents come to visit we let them sleep in our room, because there is a bathroom in there.) It is a full bed, as opposed to the queen bed that we are accustomed to sleeping in. I have learned that I HATE sharing a full-sized bed. Everywhere I turn, there is Chris! I like to be affectionate before I fall asleep and after I wake up. But the actual sleeping hours should be solitary. Sleeping is a solitary activity for me.
- Work has been really great for me lately, from a professional (as opposed to fun) standpoint. I've gotten some nice compliments and (more telling) requests from people to have me on their projects. That is so nice.
- We have a week in July that we can go on vacation. July 19th to July 26, specifically. But we don't know where to go. There are several places in the US we have on our list of places to visit, but we kind of feel like we should go somewhere resorty and tropical while we are still childfree. We've never done a tropical/resorty kind of trip, and it might be fun. Anyone have any suggestions?

I suggest San Francisco.
Oh wait...then you'll run into John and me.
Congrats on the time! I am in a funk/never-ending cycle of small injuries that have started to get me down. This little post perked me right up.
Hmmm...When do the turtles lay their eggs on the coast of Costa Rica? That would be a cool place to go if the timing is right. Also, a friend of mine goes to Belize whenever she can manage it.
Monica - And would that be a bad thing for us or for you guys? ;) We actually had thought about driving down to Tijuana and then driving all the way up the Pacific Coast highway. If we don't make a decision that will probably be our default trip.
Artemisia - What kind of injuries have you been getting? I'm curious, I've had some stuff too that has almost slowed me down. And oooh, Belize has been on the list. Hmm...
Thailand! It's a bit far, but a ton of fun, and once you get there it's relatively expensive.
