Wintery Whining

So, New Year's Resolutions. My new approach is to make and stick to ONE resolution each year. That shouldn't be too hard, and by the end of the year my new habit should be ingrained. Just in time to pick up another one for the next year. So my resolution for 2007 is to make my bed every morning. I know, you're blown away by my ambition. Maybe your resolution should be to be more like me.

Life in the new year has been pretty good. Life is picking back up. Community Council started again last Wednesday, in fact I have a board meeting tonight. Our theology class starts again next Tuesday. We've been back at the gym after our little break from working out over Christmas and our trip to Canada. It feels good, although we've abandonded riding the bus as we have some activity every night after work that we usually have to get to ASAP.

What doesn't feel good is going outside. We are having a crazy cold spell here. It's 22 degrees as I type. Getting in the cold car in the morning isn't fun. I desperately want a remote car starter, but we don't have enough money in the car fund to get one. We won't have the money until May, at which time the point will be moot. Chris says we can get one next fall, but I want one NOW!!!!!! I say we should just get one, and pay ourselves back out of the car fund back over the next few months, but this is one I don't think I'm going to win. To his credit, Chris has been going out early and starting the car, but I don't want him to be cold, either.

According to the weather people, the cold spell should last another week or so, after which time it will be back to normal and I can stop whining. Check back then.
